Voluntario Global is a non-government organization (NGO) that works within poor communities.
We receive no financial assistance from the government; our funds come directly from generous donations. Our resources are distributed according to local needs under the strict supervision of our local coordinators.
With this in mind, the donations we request from participants in our programs are fair and accessible to all. The small income generated from participants in our programs allows us to maintain our presence and continue our work.
In addition, a volunteer's contribution towards their own program goes to funding the whole volunteer program: from administration costs, volunteer recruitment, the development and running of volunteer programs, orientation, training and funding the project itself.
All donations are tax deductible (paying through the Omprakash Foundation).
We maintain complete transparency in our finances and encourage all volunteers to view how our income is used and to participate in the budgetary decision-making process.
The following graphic shows how we distribute the money raised:

Thanks to a generous donation from one of our volunteers, Oliver Morley, we have been able to begin operating a Bank for the Poor. This is a very practical and unique form of micro-credit that allows us to make very small, low-interest loans to those who do not meet the lending requirements of a traditional bank.
We have been able to finance computers, books, and many necessary supplies to go on and grow. In addition, we have also financed a home construction loan for a family that lives in Villa Soldati.
Lately, we have opened a meeting place, named "Volunteer Club & house" where volunteers can interchange in order to improve their helping in projects and it is a place for studying, taking classes and meeting for young people from poor areas.
